Our Team
Dr. Julie Waisbren, MD
Dr. Waisbren was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin Madison for her undergraduate degree and the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health for medical school, where she graduated at the top of her class. She completed her residency training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. She was a hospital medicine specialist and clinical instructor at UCLA Health and later the University of Wisconsin Madison Hospital.
Dr. Julie Waisbren wanted to practice more patient-centered medicine, so she left the large healthcare system to start her own practice in Milwaukee. Her mission is to provide an exceptional primary care experience that is accessible, productive, and personal.
In her free time she enjoys spending time with her young son and family. She loves being outdoors, hiking, reading, doing art projects, and watching a good movie with her family with some popcorn and Raisinets.
Dr. Charles Waisbren, MD
Dr. Charles Waisbren was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He graduated from Nicolet High School, received his undergraduate degree from Cornell University School of Arts and Sciences and his medical degree from the Cornell University College of Medicine. He did his residency training at Montefiore Hospital in New York and became board certified in internal medicine. He returned to Milwaukee to start his medical practice with his father, Dr. Burton Waisbren, Sr., who practiced medicine until he passed away at the age of 92. Dr. Charles Waisbren was voted to be a Top Doctor by Milwaukee Magazine in 2022.
When he is not practicing medicine, Dr. Charles Waisbren enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and coaching basketball. He started the Layups and Literacy Program at the Silverspring Neighborhood Center which was recently featured by Milwaukee Public Television. This program concentrates on bringing access to literacy as well as basketball to an under-served community.
Jennifer Tomaw
PATIENT MANAGER
Jennifer Tomaw was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has over 20 years of office manager experience. She has been working in the office of Dr. Charles Waisbren for over 10 years and has worked diligently to help patients receive exceptional care. She is known for going above and beyond to provide a caring and personalized patient experience.
She lives in Milwaukee with her husband and has 4 children, including one step daughter. She enjoys traveling and making new memories with her family and new grandson.
Ethan Babin
OFFICE MANAGER
Ethan was born and raised in Central Illinois but spent five years living in Utah. With a decade of experience in medical and mental health services, Ethan is now one of the office managers at Waisbren Primary Care. He enjoys helping patients and embracing new challenges every day to ensure a smooth and supportive healthcare experience.
Outside of work, Ethan loves hiking, reading, paddleboarding, and traveling. They share their home with their fiancée, a dog, and two cats, always finding joy in adventure and creating new memories.
A family-run practice
It has always been Dr. Julie’s dream to practice primary care for her community alongside her father and with the legacy of her grandfather, Dr. Burton Waisbren, who did the same.
