  • In office testing for strep, flu, COVID, glucose, thyroid, anemia, diabetes, vitamin D, kidney function, electrolytes.

  • Other labs are drawn in the office but processed elsewhere.

  • Dr. Waisbren is not trained in initiation and titration of medications for ADHD. When patients have a confirmed diagnosis of ADHD and are on a stable dose of stimulant medications, she can often maintain their prescriptions going forward. If a patient would like to explore treatment of ADHD, Dr. Waisbren typically recommends a psychiatry consultation.

  • Yes, Dr. Waisbren practices geriatric care with a focus on prevention, reducing the number of medications as appropriate and maximizing quality of life.

  • No, Dr. Waisbren does not place the IUD or the Nexplanon. She can discuss other methods of pregnancy prevention or refer you to a gynecologist.

  • Yes, Dr. Waisbren manages common mental health concerns. She has particular expertise in treating anxiety, depression, OCD and panic disorder.

  • No, Dr. Waisbren does not do biopsies. She does treat benign skin conditions. If a mole is atypical and a biopsy is recommended, she refers to a dermatologist who will do the biopsy and have a pathologist review the results.

  • No, Dr. Waisbren is not trained in joint injections. She does however have an established network of orthopedists that she can refer you to for a timely injection. She can also help with acute pain management until you have more definitive treatment of your joint.

  • Yes, Dr. Waisbren manages many common skin complaints. If the rash is more complex or does not respond to first line treatment, then you will likely need a dermatologist.

  • Yes, Dr. Waisbren does pap smears.

  • Dr. Waisbren is comfortable managing hormone therapy for perimenopausal and postmenopausal women. She does not have training in hormone therapy for gender affirming care, but she can help you find the right resources.

  • No, Dr. Waisbren does not routinely prescribe medications without talking to patients, however she is always happy to squeeze you in for an in person or virtual appointment. Dr. Waisbren believes that it is in the best interest of the patient to be able to directly speak with their doctor regarding their health concerns.
